Two Bits

Happy Friday! It’s crazy how a day can carry such emotion, right? Slogging through Monday, hittin’ our stride come Wednesday, feeling great ’cause it’s Friday, and then the mild anxiety creeps up on Sunday. My feelings about each day are a little bit different because I am self-employed and work from home, but for some reason Friday is still the freaking best. I usually put in a good amount of work on Fridays and Saturday, but it just doesn’t matter. There’s nothing like that Friday feeling. Cheers to Friday!

If you need a little inspiration for your weekend, here are a few suggestions :

Look up a new to you trail and go for an epic day hike. I’m taking a crew on a 7.2 mile hike with over twenty waterfalls next weekend – you should join us! Here is a registration link.

Hang up your hammock or lay out your tapestry and read a book, take a nap, or dream something up.

Come up with a list of summer goals such as : hike X number of times, visit _____ beach, try that activity you’ve always dreamed of trying, learn to identify 10 trees, go on Sarah’s North Carolina retreat, etc. Coming up with a concrete list will make it easier to attempt your goals, this activity should be fun, not stressful.

Grill outside, it’s pretty much time and if it’s not, at least clean your deck, porch, or backyard and make it time!

Make a few batches of sun tea.

Make a plant hanger and decorate your home or porch for the spring and summer.

Clean out your closet. Feel lighter and more free after donating a bunch of your things.

Definitely call your “mom” on Sunday. Mom meaning anyone who has had a positive motherly influence in your life. I feel I have so many moms, Kate being one of them!
