Unicorn or Narwhal?

PLEASE tell me that you stocked up on ice cream and milk during the great TP hoarding of 2020. Because if you did, you could make milkshakes. BUT if you also have some icicles hanging around, then you can make something magical.

Today we have two different dessert drinks for you. One is kid friendly, the other is 21+. But both are sure to put a smile on your face.

The tricky part about both of these drinks is that they require icicles. You may be thinking that it’s not the time of year for icicles, and we know that the rest of the country is starting to look for spring blooms, but here in Colorado we’re still counting on a few good spring snowstorms. Don’t worry, we’ll republish this post next January, it’ll be a bright note just when you think winter’s become unbearable.

The Narwal

{kid friendly} I don’t want to give the secret away, but this is just a basic vanilla milkshake with a bit of sparkle and the amazing narwal horn. Your kids are going to go bonkers.

  • Make a vanilla milkshake. We do it by blending a few hearty scoops of vanilla ice cream with a dash of vanilla extract and just enough milk to get everything to mix. You can always add a little bit more milk if it’s too thick for your liking.
  • Pour divide the milkshake into glasses.
  • Top with some blue crystal sugar sprinkles.
  • Add the narwal’s horn!

The Unicorn

{21+} We love adding a bit of alcohol to our milkshakes. It started when we first made the hazelnut liqueur, continued with our vanilla infused vodka, and then there was the coffee liqueur. We suggest a combination of the hazelnut and coffee liqueurs, but you can use whatever alcohol you’d like.

My little assistants loved these shakes so much and they were super excited to help take pictures. <3
