Multipurpose Garment Rack

I’m turning 40 this year. And nothing says 40 like hitting “publish” on a post titled “Multipurpose Garment Rack”. So boring adult is the role that I now fill here. That said, please (I’m begging you) read on to find out why your house, apartment, and tiny house needs this garment rack. It’s the best boring-adult-thing for everyone, whether you’re in your 20s or your 40s. coat_rack

Last fall, knowing that we had a variety of visitors staying with us throughout the holidays, I bought this garment rack for our guest bedroom. The bedroom has a closet, but it’s been commandeered for winter coats, linens, and other nonsense. We didn’t have a landing space for guests to unpack their suitcase, hang clothes, and generally feel organized.

I looked at a few garment racks from Ikea, and almost purchased one, but then this simple bamboo rack caught my eye. It appealed to me for a few reasons. It’s less than $50, making it cheaper than the Ikea models I liked. I like its simplicity: a rod for hangers, 4 knobs on the ends for  hanging towels, hats, necklaces, etc., and the rack on the bottom for shoes, toiletry bags, or a small suitcase. Plus, the rack folds up! Check out the pick below to see how slim it is when folded, making it easy to store when not in use.

Because of its simplicity, this rack is so multi-functional. It performs equally well in a bedroom or in an entryway. We moved it into our entryway for our big Christmas party. I don’t think many people arrived with coats, but those that did were able to hang them up, and we eliminated the big pile of coats on the guest bed.

This link takes you to the exact rack that we have. But there are so many options and sizes!
