Spread it on the OUTSIDE of your bread before grilling! Yes, instead of butter. It works so well!

Having made at least 7 grilled cheese sandwiches this week, I’ve thoroughly tested this method. I’m super pumped about this substitution because our butter (that sits out on the counter) is a bit difficult to spread during the cold winter months, but we’ll never have that problem with mayo!

This hack isn’t my own. I learned about it while reading through the One Pan Whole Family cookbook, she uses it in her recipe for pimento grilled cheese sandwiches, which were delicious.
