Coffee Posts Round-up

live seasoned blue mountain coffee jamaica-9

With cooler nights and crisper air, I’m definitely starting to feel the change in seasons. Of course, the abrupt shift from our carefree summer adventures to the more rigid school schedule has further confirmed that we’ve turned the corner. The combination of weather + sticking to a schedule has left me feeling extra thankful for my morning and afternoon coffee breaks.

If you’re craving a bit of inspiration to caffein your days, here’s a round-up of some of our favorite recipes and products.

live seasoned basic coffee gear

Check out this post for our favorite coffee gear. I’m loyal to a simple pour-over (#4) for my morning brew, but Sarah loves to start her day with a good espresso.

chocolate_cake

Sarah and I love chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. This recipe is for our favorite chocolate cake, except we subbed coffee for the boiling water. A simple swap that adds a richer/darker flavor to the chocolate sponge.

liqueur

Call me crazy, but I’ve already started my holiday gift scheming. If you’re looking for something homemade for the over 21 crowd on your list. Brewing a batch of coffee liqueur takes less than a week and will be well received when paired with a some fancy hot cocoa mixes and silly or beautiful mugs. (yes, I’m definitely hoping for both of those mugs in my stocking this year. wink wink)

frappe3

Fall is such a beautiful time of year for camping. On your next trip, shake up a round of our favorite instant coffee frappes. No boiling water required! Ice is required, but we hear that everyone travels with those fancy coolers. You know, the ones that keep your ice cold for a year and double as a fold-out bed for van guests.

What’s your coffee routine looking like these days? Have a coffee recipe that we should try?
