Holiday Room Spray

Ginger’s our ingredient of the season, and we love using essential oils for home and body.

We’re popping in with a quick DIY : a holiday room spray! It’s simple, yet it totally adds to the ambiance when hosting visitors (this and a big glass of wine).

Honestly, I don’t regularly use room sprays, BUT whenever I have visitors stopping in, I like to know that the house is smelling nice. You can easily accomplish this with a simple essential oils room spray.

For this spray, I used the following ingredients, but you could create a spray with any combination of essential oils :

  • 6 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp vodka
  • 10 drops orange essential oil
  • 10 drops lemon essential oil
  • 10 drops ginger essential oil

Place all ingredients in a bottle, shake well, and spray. Remember to give the bottle a good shake before any use and write that instruction on the labels if you’re going to keep it in a public place.

After spritzing the living room, label the bottle and leave it on the bathroom counter. Guests will mentally thank you when they enter an awesome-smelling loo.

If you don’t have essential oils on hand, you could get the same effect with a simmer pot – just place some sliced citrus, sliced ginger, and a cinnamon stick in a pot of water, let it simmer over low heat while keeping an eye on the water level, and get cozy!
