We just had our first real snow storm of the season! It always creates a special buzz in our house. With this definite sign that winter’s on the way, I get particularly excited for everything that a new season brings, and last night my mind was on this drink.
The drink is so simple, just two (two!) ingredients but together they are definitely more than the sum of their parts.
As we discussed in this post, referring to this drink as a “tea” is a bit of a misnomer. It’s actually a tisane. And here we are.
Mix up a packet of honey ginger crystals with boiling water. Add some coconut milk, mix, and enjoy. That’s it!
The ginger drink has a good fiery kick. Adding the coconut milk tones it down slightly, but in a creamy way that feels super indulgent. It’s just a perfect combo.
Since you’re opening a whole can of coconut milk for this drink, I have a few tips. I like to emulsify the coconut fat and water with my hand blender. Then I store it in a jar in the fridge. It stays well-mixed and is ready to go when I need it. I will then use it throughout the week in this drink, in cocktails, and even in my morning oatmeal for a special treat. Once you get going, it’s easy to use up a can of coconut milk.
