If you’re looking for a new project or hobby, we have a lot of great ideas in our Make with Me and DIY archives.
I’m so excited about these little embroidered pictures. It’s been a long time since I’ve done any embroidery, and the two small shops mentioned in this post made jumping into this craft super easy.
These embroidery designs are from Hook Line & Tinker’s etsy shop. I love her designs and thought that these were particularly perfect for the beach house. I really liked the simplicity of the two color motif for each of these and how they go together but aren’t too matchy-matchy. In addition to the nautical designs, she has a bunch of other cuties. Right now I’m working on this one for the boys’ room. <3
I ordered these as a pre-printed fabric bundle, which is a great inexpensive option if you have easy access to the rest of the materials that you’ll need. The printed fabric option does not come with thread or any of the other materials that you’ll need (hoop, needle, scissors), but it does come with a super handy stitch guide that shows you how to many any of the stitches you’ll need for the design.
If this is your first foray into embroidery or if you’re buying one as a gift, then I think her complete embroidery kits are a great resource.
The beautiful frames are from a company called Modern Hoopla. Using the frames is as simple as slipping your finished project, still in its hoop, into the back of the frame. I LOVE how easily they create a polished finish project with almost no effort and am definitely going to use them again, especially for projects that I want to give as gifts.
Stitching these left me wanting to work on a few little embroidered scenes of my own! What have you been working on lately? Have you picked up a new quarantine hobby? If so, we’d love to hear about it!
