Another week of job hunting and crafting in these parts!  This week I designed, printed and put together these simple, but fancy-looking invites for a friend’s bachelorette party.  I don’t know about you, but I love any chance to plan a party.  When I lived in Philadelphia, my roommates and I would throw parties that would overflow out of our living room and backyard and into our alleyway (we had a pretty tiny house).  We loved bringing a bunch of fun and beautiful souls into one place. Ah, parties. They make my heart grow. Just putting together these invites, finding a great airbnb, and activity planning pumps me up.

Sometimes I think I should have gone into event planning, but then I remember my longing to stay home, talk to no one and craft all.day.long.  I did a lot of that this week.  I actually ordered a 35 lb bag of dog food from Amazon just so I wouldn’t have to drive to Petco #homebodysolutions . With all that free time, I started and finished my very first woven wallhanging! I didn’t follow instructions or tutorials because I find I learn best by trial and error, so yeah, lots of errors were made, but I finished it. The next one will be better.  I also moved my desk into my closet this week.  Sounds weird, right? Or maybe you’ve seen photos like this before? My desk is in my office/craft room, but I really wanted to free up some floorspace (so I can litter it with half-finished craft products).  There are two huge closets in the room so I figured I could spare one and I’m so happy I did, I love the result!  It’s like a tiny little desk nook and the best part? You can close the doors and forget all about the computer work you have to do!  I’ll tidy it all up and share a photo sometime soon.

Unfortunately, my week was not full of as much glitter and party planning as Sarah’s! It was full of a lot of mothering, which is its own special kind of fun! Plus, it delivers the sleepless nights and subsequent partially hungover feeling every morning, so, hooray for that. But really, I looked back at my week, and it was another one spent mostly at home with Alex, whose language and understanding is growing in leaps and bounds these days! We’ve always talked a lot to him, but it’s startling to realize that now he knows exactly what we’re saying, and while he can’t put sentences together yet, he’s now trying to say every key word we say. So cute!

I have been able to squeeze in crafty moments here and there – so my big sweater project is coming along (update soon!). I finished the cutest sweater for little A, and then I started the softest hat for me made from a combination of merino, alpaca, and cashmere (the trifecta of cozy). So, more details on all of that soon, but now I have to go take a nap, because 4:44am is too early for anyone to wake up!

Have a great weekend! xo
