Seasoned View Vol. 36

Wow! It’s been nearly a year since I’ve shared a seasoned view. So much has happened since last June! So much has happened since this past March! I hope your spring is starting to lighten up and bloom. Let these bright backdrops carry you through your computer work until you make time for nature each day.

Simply right-click on the images to save and use as a desktop backdrop. All of these photos were taken within a half-mile of my house here in Seattle. If you want to see the archives, you can find past months’ here.

Happy Spring Y’all! While it is snowing in the next county over (insert eye rolls) spring has certainly sprung in North Carolina. This past weekend has been filled with walks, hikes, and long runs in the sunshine. Everywhere I look there is a different daffodil variety in all its glory. The only bummer is the ever-looming threat of drizzle or downpour, so it’s unlikely that I have my DSLR with me. On Saturday, I enjoyed all the new tulips at Duke Gardens and I’m excited to take our sister, Kristin, there later this week to see what else is flourishing. I’ll report back via instastories – follow us here.

Happy December everyone! We love this cozy time of year. Sarah loves it even more now that she lives in a mild climate, just yesterday she walked her dog in a t-shirt! What a dream. Even if the outdoor temperature isn’t below freezing, you can still celebrate the season by adding a little snow to your desktop. We’re sharing some of our favorite images from winters passed. The snowy Christmas tree field will probably be Sarah’s favorite set of images until the end of time. The light, the big flurries, the situation just couldn’t be any more beautiful, no Photoshop involved. Scroll down to see the rest and choose one for your desktop.

We were lucky enough to grow up on seventy acres of mostly woods, some fields of wildflowers, and just a little bit of mowed lawn.

Happy last day of the first month 🙂 Hopefully, 2018 came about gently, without too much hesitation. I find I can become overwhelmed at the beginning of each year. So many possibilities and dreams and wants, where to start, ya know? I only had a few days like that this January, but each time I felt overwhelmed I turned to my meditation practice. Meditation allows me to put some space in between my thoughts and emotions and myself. It’s my mental health medicine and I cannot thrive without it. If you’d like to join, I send out a Meditative Monday email each week with a guided meditation. Sign up here. But, back to the images…

Sup pups? It’s been a year, yuuuuup, an entire year since we’ve come at ya with a seasoned view, but boom! Just like that we’re back. I spent the evening researching and pricing out yoga retreat packages for Tulum, Mexico and now I cannot stop thinking about the beach. Warmth, coconuts, waves, sand, books, sunglasses, beer, sunsets, all the other island buzzwords you can think of, that’s where my head is at right now. Throw your towel down and enjoy looking at the horizon with me, this Seasoned View takes place on the tiny island of Koh Kood, Thailand.

Bali! Before heading to Bali, I groaned at the thought of it.  I had only ever heard Bali mentioned during prize puzzles on Wheel Of Fortune and it was always preceded by ‘an all inclusive 9-day getaway!’ blah, blah, blah. I imagined it to look like one huge Sandals resort. Ick. Not my kind of traveling (I apologize if it’s yours!) I thought, no way, not going to Bali, any other Indonesian island, yes, Bali, nope! Holy crap I was wrong. Bali is amazing.  There are a couple touristy beaches on the southern side of the island, but beyond that Bali is an amazing, lush, green gem of an island.  More on that in another post, but for now here’s a few new Seasoned Views for your April desktops and backgrounds. Usually we share images that Kate and I took over the past week, but we’re taking it wayyyy back this month and sharing photos of where I was exactly four years ago. Welcome to time traveling with the Seasoned sisters.
